"Birthplace of Leaders for the Nation"

In its 51st year of service to the community, Oasis Hospital hosted a National Day Celebration, rejoicing in 4 decades of United Arab Emirates national history. As a major foundation of Sheikh Zayed's vision to care for his people Oasis Hospital celebrated its role as the "Birthplace of Leaders for the Nation".

Mr. David Printy, President and CEO of Oasis Hospital along with Advisory Board member Colonel Ateej Al Dhaheri, Community Police representatives and members of the Al Ain community unveiled a new front sign revealing the tagline "Birthplace of Leaders for the Nation".  Prior to the introduction of modern healthcare to the Abu Dhabi Emirate the infant mortality rate was about 50 percent. Many of the leaders in government and business today are alive because of Sheikh Zayed's partnership with Pat and Marian Kennedy. The new tagline reflects the hospital's role as the first healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi, a place where many current leaders of the Emirates were born.

Mr. Printy congratulated the Emirates on 40 years of advancement and evolution. He quoted Sheikh Zayed "No matter how many buildings, foundations, schools and hospitals we build, or how many bridges we raise, all these are material entities. The real spirit behind the progress is the human spirit, the able man with his intellect and capabilities." Oasis Hospital's mission recognizes that, along with medicine it is important to treat each patient with love and compassion. Mr. Printy went on to say "as we look at the construction of our new building; which will have the latest technology and outstanding medical staff, the original vision of Sheikh Zayed will continue.  Oasis Hospital will hold true to our mission that we have been for over 50 years in support of building up the human spirit." He thanked the leaders of the nation for their hospitality to Oasis Hospital and the opportunities they have created for the advancement of healthcare and the on-going support of a policy that recognizes the value of all people regardless of their culture, religion or race.

The morning ceremony included a reception and a tour of the Sheikh Zayed Majlis with the Advisory Board members, local leaders and patient families.
