Oasis Hospital Dedicates the New Surgical Suite

Oasis Hospital paid special tribute on Saturday, 25 September to Dr Daryl Erickson, the first surgeon at Oasis Hospital. During the ceremony, the new Dr Daryl Erickson Surgical Center was dedicated. Dr Erickson, who was present for the dedication ceremony, served at Oasis Hospital from 1976 to 1985. Members of his family, local dignitaries, as well as a number of hospital staff were also present to witness the special honor bestowed on Dr Erickson for his work.

Mr. David Printy, Oasis Hospital President and CEO, recognized the contribution made by Dr Erickson in his address. "Since its beginning, Oasis Hospital has had at the core of its mission, to show God's love and compassion for all people in tangible ways. Dr. Erickson was a pioneer in bringing modern surgical services to the surrounding community through his work here at the first hospital in the Abu Dhabi region. His deep love for people combined with his medical skills had a profound impact on improving the care of patients. Now after more than 25 years, many of the local people still remember "Dr Farhan" as he was affectionately known by the local people."

Mr. Printy added, "Dr Erickson later served as Chairman of MedSend, a U.S. faith-based organization that enables global healthcare. MedSend finances the medical education costs for new doctors who commit to later serve in some of the neediest areas of the world. We are honored to dedicate the Dr Daryl Erickson Surgery Center in his name, and to welcome him back to Oasis Hospital for this occasion."

Dr Erickson thanked all those present, including many staff who worked with him during his years at Oasis Hospital, for the honor bestowed upon him. He added, "It is easy to see the evidence of God's presence in the work of Oasis Hospital. It is my hope and prayer that all who enter this surgical center, as patients and care-givers, will be richly blessed by God."
