Oasis Hospital Celebrates Joint Commission International Reaccreditation

On June 15, 2010 Oasis Hospital was officially notified of their successful Joint Commission International (JCI) Reccreditation. JCI is the coveted standard of accreditation to which all hospitals in the UAE are now expected to attain. Just 3 years ago, Oasis Hospital became the first non-government hospital in the emirate of Abu Dhabi to receive JCI Accreditation.

Once JCI Accreditation is achieved, reaccreditation by a site visit of JCI physician and nurse surveyors is required every 3 years to maintain the qualification. The reaccreditation survey visit can be even more rigorous than the initial qualifying survey. The process itself provides standardized systems and practices that continue to improve the quality of patient care while also setting international standards for benchmarking.

David Printy, President and CEO of Oasis Hospital, commented in a letter thanking the Oasis Hospital staff for their dedication and patient centered care, "The best hospitals in the world work as a team for the patient's benefit. It is a joy to see how all of our staff are working together to make sure we deliver quality care in a safe and supportive environment."

Oasis Hospital, located in the city of Al Ain, was the first hospital in the region, caring for the people of the Al Ain and Abu Dhabi communities since 1960.

Successfully fulfilling the stringent requirements for Joint Commission International (JCI) Reaccreditation has proven once again that Oasis Hospital continues to lead the way in private healthcare in the Abu Dhabi region. Oasis Hospital will continue to undergo JCI surveys every 3 years. Therefore they are committed to upholding the standards achieved through this process, and in fact continuously improving in order to meet ever increasing demands for quality and safety of care.

Mr. Printy added, "The JCIA seal is a reminder to all of us that our focus is the patient and their families - the best of care given with love and compassion."
