Dr. Naimet Alsaigh, MD Urologist who has worked at Oasis Hospital for the last few years, achieved acceptance of one of his research papers for presentation by both the European Association of Urology (EAU) and the American Urological Association (AUA) at their respective annual meetings this year. These two conferences are the most important urological conferences in the world. It is truly an honor to have a paper accepted by both associations. Dr. Naimet had a previous research paper accepted by both associations last year as well.
Before joining Oasis Hospital, Dr. Naimet was both a practicing Urologist as well as a faculty member of Urology at the Alyarmook Teaching Hospital in Baghdad, Iraq. During his tenure there, he was involved in a number of research projects. After coming to Oasis Hospital, he continued his research involvement, advising medical students on research projects in Iraq via the internet.
This particular research paper, entitled "The Incidence, Management and Outcome of Penetrating Bladder Injuries in Abdominal Trauma", was co-authored by research assistant Dr. Firas Ghanim Petros. The research included about 500 abdominal trauma cases studied from Iraq, and the outcome was meant to overcome difficulties and improve results in such cases. Dr. Naimet personally presented the paper at the EAU Congress in Italy in March 2008. His co-author colleague presented the work at the AUA Annual Meeting in the USA in May 2008.
We are privileged to have a Urologist of Dr. Naimet's caliber on our staff at Oasis Hospital.
