It is important that an expecting mother receive proper medical care throughout her pregnancy, both for herself and her baby. Regular pre-natal visits with experienced medical staff can reduce the potential risk factors involved in pregnancy and childbirth and better prepare for the new baby. Our program of care before and after birth includes routine blood and urine screening, ultrasound scans, physical examinations, and other methods of monitoring the growth and development of the baby.
The consultants in our Obstetrics department can advise women with medical conditions that may affect their pregnancy such as: high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid disorders and renal problems. We also offer a five week course of prenatal classes, which our mothers have described as being informative and helpful as well as being fun!
